The gaming industry-wide idea that employee accommodations should be on par with restaurants and lounges for guests prompted a face-lift for this vast, twenty-four-hour employee cafeteria. Tired of fluorescent lighting, endless rows of fixed booths, and devoid of color, the massive alcove cafeteria just off a main hallway was amended to feel like a welcoming restaurant. Adding a long wall to truly make it a space of its own and dividing it into two dining rooms to break down the massive scale were essential. Booths were relegated to the perimeter, while new ceiling trays center over moveable dining furniture. Natural light was borrowed from the exterior-facing dining room through simple plate glass windows painted with an exciting graphic punch borrowed from the circular light fixtures. Synthetic hardwood plank flooring, vibrant colors, framed art, and well-placed greenery give the space a complete and polished style.
